Newsletter 21.10.16

21st October 2016
Dear parents and carers,

Porthmeor Class perform at the Minack Theatre: Our Y5s performed magnificently alongside other local schools, in their adaptation of ‘The Tempest’ on Monday. Performing in brilliant sunshine, it was hard to believe that the 5 schools had not previously rehearsed together. We would like to express our thanks to John Brolly for his input in helping the children to achieve such an accomplished performance and to the Minack Theatre for offering such an amazing opportunity.

John Brolly is performing his storytelling version of ‘The Tempest’ on October 28th at 10.30am at the Minack - tickets are £4.50 for adults, just 50p for primary aged children available on the door.

Porthcurno Visit to Nanquidno: Porthcurno Class had a busy time during their visit to Nanquidno this week. Inspired by tales of lost wartime aircraft they focused on some creative writing before sketching and considering the importance of farming in supplying much needed crops during the 2nd World War. They were also introduced to WW2 artefacts and memorabilia to further enhance their learning about World War 2 which has been their project based learning focus this half term.
