At St Buryan Academy, we believe the first step to helping your child fulfil their true potential is by motivating them to believe in themselves.
We do this by committing the same degree of care and attention to each and every child, so that we can aim to understand their unique motivations.
When we know what motivates them, we are well placed to provide the necessary opportunities to stimulate their learning as well as provide support and guidance to help them grow confidence in their own abilities.
Our Mission Statement:
'Believe, Achieve, Aspire'
HIGH STANDARDS: Our whole school community strives for the best in all aspects of school life.
ENJOYMENT in LEARNING: Our school was one of the first schools nationally to recognise the importance of a creative curriculum to ensure enjoyment in the learning process. We believe that school should be fun and exciting for everyone in order for our children to understand how they learn and to develop a love for lifelong learning. We are committed to providing first-hand learning experiences whenever possible, such as our 'Law Making' workshop during a visit to Parliament!
RESPECT: We encourage respect for everyone, regardless of who they are or what they have. We respect the environment as a source of life and inspiration.
At St Buryan Academy we believe in making children's learning relevant and do all we can to link our learning to the world around us.
Visitors to the school frequently remark upon the school's family atmosphere and the positive attitude of the whole school community. The high quality of learning and standards of behaviour (judged as 'Outstanding' in our last Ofsted report, July 2012), wide range of extra-curricular activities and close community involvement are all strengths of the school.
Our Extended Schools opportunities include free Breakfast Club provision as well as affordable After School care. We now run a nursery for young children, 'Little Choughs', but continue to build on past successes in all aspects of school life. I am in the unusual position of having attended the school as a child along with four generations of my family, including my 2 grown up children. St Buryan is a special, unique community where everyone strives to work together.
At St Buryan Academy we believe that children should be encouraged to develop free thought and to explore the furthest reaches of their imagination.
Through the ongoing development and evolution of best learning practices, we’re afforded the necessary tools to help your child challenge and exceed the scope of their imagination.
With free and open minds that know no bounds, a world of endless and wonderful opportunities will be opened to them.
Visitors are always welcome to speak to our excellent team and see our exciting, creative environment- please use our contact details to arrange a visit!
